Tracey has run The Valley Centre for the last 25 years; action researching this process of sustainable community building with a number of other sectors including youth, wellbeing, conservation, education and rehabilitation. She has 30 years experience working in education, small business management, community facilitation, action-research, sustainable community building and creative expression, her experience in community capacity building has played an integral part in the roles she has undertaken. Speaking at the United Nations dialogue amongst civilisations conference in 2002, it became increasingly important to share the vision of The Valley Centre and the focus on building sustainable models for communities and young people. More recently Tracey has been the leading Community Facilitator in working with Aboriginal communities right across Australia, as The Valley Centre is invited to work on sustainable community building projects. Tracey has witnessed the empowerment of these communities through the introduction of renewable energy, which acts as the major catalyst for their visions for a self-sufficient and sustainable future. She is passionate about this process and is an avid writer and speaker on the subject.
