Barney has over 16 years’ experience in the government, corporate and not for profit sectors, creating and executing strategic innovation agendas to deliver societal impact. He was recently appointed as the General Manager of the icare Foundation, which supports innovative approaches to injury prevention, recovery and improving quality of life for the seriously injured. With an annual $18m grant budget, the Foundation is the largest funder of its kind in the workers compensation field.
Barney has a background in large scale program design and delivery. He previously worked at Lendlease, where he secured $9m of investment into a major clean energy program. Before this, he was Program Manager of the $27m NSW Home Energy Action program, designed to reduce energy bill stress for low income and community housing residents, which delivered over $32m of combined social, environmental and economic value to the state of NSW.
Barney holds a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
