The Hon. Gareth Ward, MP
The Hon Gareth Ward MP has been the Member for Kiama in the NSW Legislative Assembly since 2011 and is the current Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services. Gareth was born into a small-business family and has lived on the South Coast his entire life.
Born with Oculocutaneous Albinism, Gareth has been legally blind since birth and as such is the first Minister for Disability Services to have a disability.
Gareth is a graduate of local public schools, the conservatorium of music in violin, he holds degrees in Arts, Commerce and Law and is an admitted solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia. Passionate about access to justice issues, Gareth still volunteers his time as a practicing solicitor.
