Vanessa Lesnie is a Senior Associate at Social Outcomes (www.socialoutcomes.com.au) working on evidence-based social innovation design. She is a social change practitioner and strategist with 20 years experience in the community, government and corporate sectors and has worked at both the domestic and global levels on major human rights and social justice issues. She was a founding Director at Impact Investing Australia; ran several national human rights inquiries with the Australian Human Rights Commission and developed a business and human rights program there. She worked with Human Rights First in New York City where she led a corporate-community-government partnership designed to improve labor conditions in Cambodian factories supplying garments to Gap Inc, and led the organisation's advocacy efforts at the UN. Vanessa currently serves on the Leadership Council at The Social Outfit, the Advisory Committee at the Human Rights Law Centre and as a Mentor for Social Leadership Australia. Vanessa has an LLM from New York University and a BComm/LLB from UNSW. She is an experienced educator, facilitator, public speaker and writer.
